Payap University Department of Computer Science is offering a 20 hr short course in Data Science designed to introduce students and professionals to data analysis and visualization using the R programming language. The course does not require previous training in programming or statistics. Through hands-on exercises, participants will learn how to quickly identify significant trends in a wide variety of datasets. The course has been designed to provide practical qualitative and quantitative skills that participants can use in their own projects.

This interactive course will be taught in English by Dr Robert Batzinger (Emeritus Instructor of Payap University) with frequent summaries given in Thai. English and Thai speaking tutors will be onhand to help participants with the lab exercises. Training will take place on 3,10 and 17 June 2017. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop computers.

The cost of the course is 5,000 baht but a limited number of seats are available at reduced prices. The cost will include handouts, software on a USB memory stick, breaks and lunch for all 3 Saturdays. For more information and registration please refer to the course webpage:
